Day3

hi! today had concept presentation to the teachers...
and our teachers are Stephen Choong and Reena...
WoooHoooo~
wahahaha... but some questions for us to go think about it...
and here they are
(but you may not understand them):
1. how customisation can be done?
2. whats the main objective?
3. where's the educational part?
4. what's the history?
5. how the mask painting come about?
6. how to make ppl interested in learning it?
7. does the customisation add or remove value?
8. how to convince people in it?
9. how the 126 masks came about?
10. can it be modified? how? which ones can't?
11. MUST certain strokes and colours be there?
12. only some meaningless strokes and colours can change?

and some suggestions from them:
1. create sth traditional yet modern
2. fun thing for festivals for younger generations
3. summarise the info, present in a way that is easily accessible
4. put some famous plays and view characters from there
5. info graphic (eg. 5 category with a few words describing it)
6. interesting if can make it into sth that can stick n peel off from ur face
7. look beyond the mask
8. how can package this as a gift or collection?
9. maybe can be in high quality finished and can be framed?
10. think of the promotion part
11. maybe can give info den go to customisation
12. respectful to them if you do whatever things to it?
13. what is allowed to do with the different masks?

and some phrase that maybe can help you ppl too:
HELP THEM TO LIKE IT
DO IT WITH A MEANING
IF IT MAKES SENSE THEN DO IT
DATA VISUALISATION IMPT
CONCEPT IS VERY IMPT

this is our discussion for day 3...
and working on it!!!
JIAYOU PPL!!!!

Below is Our Proposal

Our PowerPoint version

THE DECLINING FACE ART

Chinese Face Painting

Target Audience:

People who are interested in face painting, people who are not aware of the decline culture

Why we chose the topic?
We want to promote the awareness of the Chinese mask painting. Realized the Chinese Opera sensation is declining. Furthermore, people are not aware the meaning behind face painting.

From ASIAONE.com

(Chinese street opera struggles to keep curtain raised)

Since Singapore reformed its linguistic policy in the 1970s to favor Mandarin, young people are now less likely to understand the dialects used in street opera.”

What is this all about?

An educational application that teaches people some facts on Chinese face painting and can actually customize their own mask. Showcase of a total of 126 masks.
